It's Friday. That usually means you're either thanking Crunchie or panicking that yet another week has somehow slipped through your fingers! It's definitely the latter for me this week, and these days in general (a masters will do that to you)! However, that 'so much to do and think about my head might explode' feeling (SMTDTAHME for short..) was also the inspiration for this week's post! So without further ado, I give you the 7 beauty products that have been making my life easier of late.
1. Batiste Original Dry Shampoo
For 'in between' hair days or just to add volume, dry shampoo is your friend! Definitely a product to embrace and make early morning starts a bit more bearable!
2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
This isn't my first time giving a shout-out to these fantastic lip products nor will it be my last! For an everyday lip look that requires no thought or careful application I favour the shade 'Honey'. A 'your lips, but better' shade that is super comfortable on the lips and goes with basically any look! (review of 'Lovesick' shade)
3. MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot
I'm sure most of you will be familiar with MAC paint pots which come in a multitude of shades and finishes. The shade 'Painterly' is one which has been embraced by many a beauty blogger as an everyday eyebase. Personally I favour 'Soft Ochre' which has a slightly more yellow tone. These work great to neutralise any discolouration on the eyelid and prolong your eyeshadow wear. Although concealer will function in much the same way, I like my paint pot!
4. Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream
A good BB cream is a great everyday alternative to a full face of foundation, and although I tend to favour more medium coverage I've been loving this BB cream this past week! Sent to me by the beautiful Aundrea (Dancing With Disaster), it's given a bit of an elbow to my usual L'Oreal BB choice (review here). This BB cream boasts a generous 30SPF, great coverage, moisturising formula and is packed with antioxidants! A lovely treat for my tired skin.
5. Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
Revered by many, and meh'd by some. I remain somewhat of a skincare novice, but I really enjoy this cleanser. Not because I think it's had a radical impact on my skin, but for the following reasons: it has a nice relaxing scent which is great to help unwind for bedtime, I have dehydrated skin so I love the feel of a cream cleanser, and used with a muslin cloth it very gently exfoliates your face. But mostly I love it because it removes everything - stubborn eye makeup included! One cloth, one cleanser - job done. Not having to faff around with various cleansers while still properly cleansing your face gets several thumbs up from me!
6. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
Another blogger favourite, this top coat is the business. Take any nail polish you own, inexpensive or extortionate, this top coat will help it last to its full potential. It does give a glossy finish, so if that's an issue it may not be for you. For me it keeps my nails looking polished for as long as possible, minimizing the need for touch ups during a busy week. A tad pricey, but seriously worth it in my opinion.7. Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover
Is it magic? No, it's a sponge soaked in nail polish remover in a pretty pink jar. But, does it work well and does it save me time? Hells yes! This has certainly made my life easier by being the least effortful way to remove your nail polish! I repurchased this little gem from ASOS this week having picked my first one up last September. The first pot is still going fine, but has gotten a little grubby and as ASOS were having a bit of a discount I figured it'd be rude not to!
So those are the products that have been making my life easier lately!
What are yours? I'd love to know what else I'm missing!

I loved this post! I too have a mac paint pot and revlon stain and love them! Think I need to try the bb cream tho!

ReplyDeleteThanks Avril! I must say, this BB cream is totally different! It's like a really nice foundation! :)
DeleteA great and cheap alternative to Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover, is one stocked by bodycare (not sure if you have that store on Ireland). It's in a very similar container lol and its 99p or £1.99, can't remember. Works a treat. Thank you for all your amazing YouTube videos and blogposts! Xx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing! I'm afraid we don't have Bodycare (so much as I'm aware anyways!)...:( Thanks for the lovely comment! I hope you're getting on well with your Mabelline Fit Me concealer! x
DeleteThe BB cream sounds fantastic! Where can you purchase it and what's the shade range like?
ReplyDeleteEimear you can get it from http://www.janiro.co.uk/BB-Cream.html. It comes in just one shade that they say is for all skin tones, but it's in my opinion only for light-medium skin tones. Blends out pretty well for me though! :)
DeleteThanks Orla!
