You know it's something special when I'm posting on a Thursday! But, since I got word of this amazing event I knew I had to share close it kicking off. As a full-time uni student, makeup lover and supporter of women(!) this event really struck a chord with me. You guys know I love makeup, but what I love even more is when a makeup brand uses their power to raise awareness for an important cause. Enter Benefit Cosmetics, and here's the low-down.
Benefit will be raising vital funds and awareness for Women’s Aid during a tour of five university campuses in Ireland. It’s a sad truth that in Ireland 1 in 5 women over the age of 18 has experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse. Benefit wants to help to raise money for those affected by abuse, so they are embarking on a University campus tour of Ireland.
For one week leading up to International
Women’s Day on March 8th 2013 Irish Benebabes will load up the Benebus
and tour the country, stopping at five universities, offering complimentary goodies, giving make-uppers,
shaping brows and minds with their Bene-philosophy!
On each campus they will hold female focused events during the day on site and in the evening ticketed events in the students' union bars to raise money for Women’s Aid. The events will be light-hearted, with games, competitions and make-uppers, touching on issues highly pertinent to young women, abusive relationships and domestic abuse, self-esteem etc. to name a few. During the evening event a Women’s Aid representative will also give a short presentation on their 2in2u campaign. (http://www.womensaid.ie/ campaigns/2in2u.html)

Woman’s Aid responds to over 11,000 calls
annually on their National Freephone Helpline (1800 341 900), which operates 12 hours a
day, 7 days a week. info@womensaid.ie
So as you can see - an extremely worthwhile venture! So if you find yourself on campus for those dates be sure to go down and show your support! What better way to take a well-earned study break? ;)
