| MAC Plumful Lipstick |
Today's post is all about the newest member of my MAC lipstick family! A few weeks ago I won a fabulous giveaway from the lovely Lauren Marie, which allowed me to choose my very own shade of MAC lipstick! After much debate, Google swatching, and social media polls the shade See Sheer was chosen. Alas, it was unavailable at the time (le sigh). But, not to worry I picked up the delectable shade Plumful instead!

One of MAC's creme sheen formulas, it is extremely moisturising and comfortable to wear on the lips. Unsurprisingly, this lipstick formula it is also quite sheer, as you can see from the swatches. In terms of longevity, the creme sheen formula is not really intended to be longwearing so expect to reapply fairly frequently. It's the perfect formula for me at the moment, as my poor lips have been extremely dry this winter (see below!).

It's a beautiful colour and very wearable all year round, day or night! I also think this particular shade will work well on most skin tones. From seeing other bloggers rave about this shade recently (namely essiebutton, i.e. Estée) I did expect it to be a little deeper than it actually applies. Although, I now think that could be down to Estée's extremely (Snow White) fair complexion versus my own (silly Orla).
| Wearing MAC Plumful & sans an Instagram filter for a change! Frightening, I know! :) |
You may know from my previous posts and tutorials that I am a definite fan of a bold lip, but it's great to mix it up a bit and add something a little different to my expansive lipstick collection! All in all, this is a great 'throw in your handbag' kind of lipstick - sheer, easy to apply, super comfortable on the lips, and an extremely wearable shade!
Are you a fan?

Looks like a gorgeous, almost rosy colour. It really suits you too :)

Thank you! It is quite a rosy plum actually!
DeleteThis is a gorgeous lipstick! I think you really suit the colour :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle!
DeleteI bought this a few weeks ago - I adore it. I didn't realise it would be such a natural colour, but I think I like it more because it is! Love love love :)
ReplyDeleteI know, surprising if you're just going off the bullet!:)
DeleteI never gave Plumful a second look at the store, but it looks gorgeous on you, and now, I'll definitely try it! :)
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of it if you try it out! :)
DeleteI love how beautiful it looks with just one layer!

It's very natural!:)
DeleteIt looks stunning on you hun!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Great colour for everyone, I think! :)
DeleteOH MY GOD YOU ARE A GODSENT ANGEL. I have been wondering for forever why bloggers only provide the full intensity swatch, since we can't tell if it's 1 or 10 layers, and it's very misleading. It's so frustrating to spend your own money on a lipstick or eyeshadow thinking its super pigmented based on an online swatch, only to discover that it requires many layers to reach that opacity! The past few months I've been debating to make my own blog, and I planned on doing a full intensity vs single swatch picture just like you. In the 30+ blogs I read regularly and hundreds I've ventured about, you are the FIRST to do so. Thank you so very much
ReplyDeleteThanks! I guess because I thought the bullet on its own could be deceptive, I did it that way! Although, I think most of my other swatches are a single swatch unless I've stated otherwise. :)
DeleteI've heard some really great things about plumful lately, and this looks lovely on you. I normally go for a bold lip too, but this is definitely something I want to try! x
