A Letter To Santa......From A Makeup Addict !

My Glorious Beauty Gift Ideas for Christmas 2012 !
It's that time of year again and Christmas wishlist and gift idea posts have been flooding the blogosphere! As a result of this whole 'recession' lark there has been a marked increase in the number of budget gift posts, which is a fantastic resource for all of Santa's cash-strapped helpers this year. The budget offerings are splendorous; and many of my most-loved high-street brand beauty items have earned well deserved mentions. However, I decided that there was little point in doing that which has already been so well done; so I have put together for you some less budget friendly items.

Some of these products are pretty darn pricey and unlikely to be presenting themselves in my velvet stocking this December 25th, despite how very good I've been all year (sigh). Nevertheless, I invite you to indulge with me in my recession defiant beauty selection! And so, in the spirit of makeup, decadence, and good old fashioned materialism; I present to you what is truly my Christmas makeup wishlist.

1. Clarisonic Mia
If you're not a fan of perfect skin, a flawless canvas, the visage of a goddess, please continue down the list. As for the rest of you, you're in luck! This bad-boy has reached holy-grail status in the online beauty world and with good reason it seems. Promising to clean your skin 6x better than with your hands alone in just 60 seconds, minimise pores and give all round brighter better looking skin this is a sure investment!*

Cash Monies? Varies, but prepare yourself to part with an average of 140.
Available from various online retailers and Brown Thomas in Dublin.

2. Velour Lashes
Not the first time these lashes have appeared on a wishlist of mine, and unlikely to be the last. The particular set featured above are 'Are Those Real?', but each available set is divine. They've been on my radar since May, so to get a mention again here I must really want them!

Cash Monies? $29.99(USD)
Available online.

3. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - Soft & Gentle
Another certified holy-grail product. This one in the world of highlighters; where many things are at once so similar, but so different. This item has been on my list for a good 2 years now, yet somehow I have yet to claim one as my own. A beautiful peachy-champagne highlighter to give you 'that glow'!

Cash Monies? Around 28.
Available from MAC stores and counters.

4. Tom Ford - Shade & Illuminate
For the second year in a row, the extravagance that is the Tom Ford makeup line has walked its way onto my Christmas wishlist. This year, it's the beautiful cream contour and highlight set; and this time I blame Julie. She (amongst others) has beyond raved about this product and let's face it - we all deserve to have the cheekbones and complexion of a Victoria's Secret model.

Cash Monies? 65.
Available from Tom Ford counters, Selfridges, Brown Thomas in Dublin.

5. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush
Another item which has been on my wishlist a while, although I've definitely been sent over the edge of insanity for them by Sinead's recent rave reviewAn amazing range of shades, and I believe a texture and longevity to die (or at least suffer a mild injury) for! Are they available in Ireland? No. Why not? Lord knows. But, if you know someone making a trip to the USA, or you have some other crafty way of getting your paws on them, I believe they are phenomenal and I want ALL OF THEM.

Cash Monies? $25(USD)
Available in USA, Sephora, and various extortionate prices on eBay and the like.

6. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
Don't look at me like that. I know I already have Naked 1 and Naked 2, but this is different! It's a response to the only major criticism of the previous palettes! Yes, that's right, the lovely Urban Decay people have brought us some beautiful matte shades! Plus, let's face it, we could always do with a bit more nakedness in our lives.

Cash Monies? $27(USD), €26 from Debenhams.ie
And those are my top extravagant beauty picks for Christmas 2012!
What's on your list this year?

*Please note, that this is my own personal wishlist and the items featured have been researched by me on the basis of my own personal wants and needs. I have heard of some negative experiences with the Clarisonic, but enough good reviews that I am happy to try it out with my own skin. Remember to inform yourself as a consumer and enjoy the makeupy goodness! :)
